    Frederick Douglass, neé Frederick Augustus Washington Bailey, was born inHolmes Hill Farm in Tuckahoe, Talbot County, Maryland.

    His mother was Harriet Bailey, a slave, his father was a white man believed to be his master Aaron Anthony.
